July 4th weekend

anyone going riding july 4th weekend, zach has talked about ruffcorns. i may be going if all works out.

As of right now thats the plan. I dont know what my work day will be like so it's up in the air for me.

And no, I was in the garage yesterday looking for a possible electrical issue and I guess I found one because sometimes I have power to the instrument cluster, and sometimes I don't. Put the battery on the charger and after a while it shows full charge, then drops down and starts to charge again. Could this be JUST a failing battery situation, and not a problem with the fuel pump?

I had that problem with my Arctic Cat, the battery was shot and wouldn't turn the fuel pump on. Had the problem with the Polaris too because it was so dead, but let it charge for 36 hours and it was good.

Put it on a charger for a day and a half or two days and see what happens. If that doesn't work, is there anyplace close to you that can test the battery and see if it's any good?

Well seems that I had enough battery power today to crank it over again, but no fire, and no purge from the fuel rail either.
I called Battery Plus earlier and they have an Optima in stock that I'm thinking of trying out, and I'm pretty sure that they test batteries too.
So I'll put it on the charger again and take it there on Monday after work to see what's up, and maybe come home with the Optima.

you wont be disapointed with the optima if you get it, i have one in my durango and had on in my car and they both sat outside when it was -20 out and they both fired up with no problems.

If it's cranking over then it isn't the battery. So you don't hear the drone, (or whatever you want to call it) when you turn the key to the on position? So if it doesn't turn on then it isn't getting the signal to turn on or it's junk. Only two things I could think it could be.

So the fuel pump, or an electrical issue then, correct?

Not sure if we're going to be able to do the 3rd, I think my dad will have to work that day.

Hopefully we can have all our quads back up and running by then too.

whats wrong with the quads seems like everyone in here has a broken quad.

Mine just has a bunch of miscellaneous stuff that needs done, needs new plug on audiopipe, muffler needs new bushing, both front tires need tubes, needs all the fluids changed, sometimes it cuts out in low range at 4000-4700rpm try and figure out what that is, and I think the belt is slipping so reseal the belt housing.

My dads overheated but it never said that it was hot, so we need to figure out what caused that.

Bob's needs a full service and tune up, runs kind of ruff. And the muffler needs repacked, it looks like it's a diesel, he's rolling coal all the time.

Mines fixed, picked it up today and took my Dad's down, Bob's going to take his in tomorrow or Saturday I think.
